Any investigation into the history of Thompson's Point ultimately leads to the stories of the camps themselves, thirty-three of which are listed on the Vermont Register of Historic Places, and are together designated as a Vermont State Historic District:

"The Thompson's Point Historic District comprises a significant concentration of 1880's and 90's resort architecture..."1

The memories of countless magical summers are contained in these walls and deserve to be captured and saved for generations to come. The following pages document our earliest generations, when lumber was floated in from Vergennes and the mingled sounds of construction, frolicking children, and steam-driven motor launches, echoed across the lake. Join us as we add to this rich history, enriching our shared stories with the sites and sounds of today's Thompson's Point.
