NOT JUST ANOTHER JOB… A HOME and LIFESTYLE

The Thompson’s Point Association, a seasonal community of 34 camps in Charlotte, Vermont, is seeking a Superintendent-in-Residence (Couples Welcome) to maintain and operate the community’s seasonal water system and provide security for the Association’s properties. The Association is looking for a candidate prepared to make a multi-year commitment to the position.
The job starts in April, 2018 season, learning the community and the water system under the supervision of our outgoing Superintendent, working with and training the incoming Superintendent from spring start up until fully operational for the summer

Job Responsibilities

Water system: Maintain, operate and monitor to comply with State of Vermont standards, which requires a Class 4 Water System license. If not currently licensed, the candidate will be expected to obtain certification within two years. Cost of training and testing will be provided.
Security: Provide regular rounds of all properties throughout the year, acting as both a security presence and a witness of any problems.to notify camp owners. Act as community liaison with emergency personnel, either assisting or coordinating efforts as situations may arise,
Communication: Establish and maintain active lines of communication with each camp owner, and with the Town.
Maintenance: Provide general upkeep to the Superintendent’s residence, yard, and adjacent boat yard.

Compensation

The Association owns and provides a year-round house and garage/shop at no cost to the Superintendent. It pays to maintain the buildings and provides partial utilities. An annual stipend for security and general management of the water system is provided, with an additional hourly wage paid for maintenance and repairs throughout the season.   

This job is presented as an independent contractor relationship and does not preclude the Superintendent having another job, though a 24/7 presence on the site, or ability to return to the site to address emergency disruption of service, during the summer period (May through October) is required.
